Weatherby Lake has a deep legacy of volunteerism.  Opportunities abound for Members of all ages to get involved and help us enhance and protect our most vital asset.  Whether you prefer to become a formal committee member, or would like to participate on an on-call basis, we welcome one and all!

VOLUNTEER COMMITTEES

Dam Management

Environmental

Responsible for the coordination and inspection of the dam, as well as providing oversight for maintenance as necessary.  Monitors water levels through the spillway and gates
Proactive Maintenance, Improvement and Protection of our Core Value -- Weatherby Lake.  Includes key areas of environmental focus:
  • Water Testing
  • Fisheries and Wildlife
  • Clean Up
  • Zebra Muessel Prevention
  • Wateshed Protection

Finance & Risk

Works to develop and monitor budgets and manages the insurance needs of WLIC property.

Long Range Planning

Identifies, reviews, discusses and prioritizes the needs, concerns and threats (current & long ranged) on issues protecting the lake, WLIC property and the property/lifestyle of WLIC members.

Property Management

Responsible for access area maintenance, oversight of seawall construction and secondary support for damn maintenance activities.

Rules & Regs/
Member Relations

Creates recommendations to the Board regarding reasonable chagnes to the Bylaws & Rules and Regulations.  Provides oversight for Lake Supervision, Water Patrol and water safety education.


Space & Dock

Coordinates and liaises with the Board on issues related to space availability, use and related docks/boats.  Conducts annual inspections for dock/boat/motor permits.  Provides maintenance on WLIC Lease docks and other water structures.


Technology

Provides oversight and recommendations to the Board regarding all issues relative to member data and technological equipment employed in business operations.
